OUR MISSION
One Brooklyn block at a time, we're on a mission to improve the lives of stray cats and the neighborhood they live in and end tensions between people and community cats.

We work toward a time when community cats are respected and seen as valuable members of their neighborhoods, and cruelty to animals is a thing of the past.

HOW WE HELP
More than 100,000 stray cats call Brooklyn, NY home. Sadly, most of these cats live difficult lives full of hunger, disease and fear. Our small but dedicated team of volunteers moves block by block, making life better for our community cats and their human neighbors.
Spay/Neuter & Release
Most stray cats are too feral to live with people. The best way to help these cats is to bring them to a clinic to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Once they've recovered, most of these cats can be re-introduced to their neighborhoods.

Spaying just one cat prevents the birth of nearly 100 kittens born into dangerous and difficult lives. And vaccinations prevent the spread of dangerous diseases.

Recovery
For feral cats who cannot be socialized to live in human homes, we provide safe recovery following spay/neuter procedures, including comfy spaces, meals, and medical care before they are re-released into their neighborhood.
Community Support &Â Education
One of the toughest parts of being a stray cat is being yelled at, chased, and even injured or killed by frustrated neighbors.
We work closely with the people in our neighborhoods to educate them about the benefits of spay/neuter & release programs (for example: an existing cat colony will keep new cats away). And we take care of all aspects of ongoing community cat care -- keeping their areas clean and the neighbors and cats happy.

Adoptions
Every once in a while, we find community cats who are comfortable with people or who are still kittens. In these cases, we seek out high-quality, loving homes and make sure they are set up for success with their new family.
Sanctuary
If a cat is unable to be returned to their former area (e.g., because of a medical condition or a danger to the cat due to neighborhood tensions) and cannot be adopted out, we provide life-long sanctuary in our safe, comfortable, cat-friendly micro-sanctuary.
